Technical Delivery Lead

Senior Technical Delivery Lead (Java / Cloud) – via Pàu (Hybrid, Brussels)

Pàu is looking for a Senior Technical Delivery Lead with a strong Java/cloud engineering background and proven experience in Agile delivery, to support a high-impact federal digital transformation program.

You will be engaged as a consultant via Pàu and work on a long-term assignment within a mission-driven public sector environment.

Your role

This is a hybrid role combining hands-on technical expertise with Agile delivery ownership.

You will:

• Drive Agile delivery within a multidisciplinary team (Scrum ceremonies, planning, roadmap, releases)
• Act as a technical leader, guiding design and development of robust and secure solutions
• Contribute actively to:
• API design and development
• Microservices architecture
• Event-driven systems
• Align stakeholders and manage dependencies across initiatives
• Ensure high-quality delivery in a complex, ongoing program environment

This is not a pure Scrum Master or coaching role.

This is not a purely strategic or advisory position.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on and delivery-focused.

Your profile

You bring a strong mix of technical depth and delivery experience:

• 10+ years in software engineering (Java ecosystem)
• Strong experience with:
• Java (SE / SE10+)
• API design and development
• Microservices architecture
• Proven experience in:
• Agile delivery roles (Scrum Master / Delivery Lead)
• Cloud-native environments
• Event-driven architecture
• Experience with tools and frameworks such as:
• Azure DevOps
• SAFe / LeSS (or similar)
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in complex enterprise environments

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) or BDD
• Experience with Angular

Language and location requirements (mandatory)

Only candidates who meet all criteria will be considered:

• Fluent (active) in:
• Dutch
• English
• French: at least intermediate (professional working proficiency)
• Currently living in Belgium
• Willing to work 3 days per week onsite in Brussels (near Brussels South station)
